Soundproofing for C'est la vie club in Sofia

C'est la vie is one of the fanciest restaurants and clubs in the city of Sofia. It is open for its customers for lunch and dinner, and can later turn into a real party. The club provides live music with performers and stars from Greece and Bulgaria.

The request from the owners was to design and install the highest class of sound insulation on all the necessary party walls so that when the windows are closed, no music can be heard from outside the club.
Following the brief, DECIBEL engineers designed a double-layered sound insulation system, consisting of a stud wall on top of a special dampening layer, to isolate the migration of sound through the metal frame to the parent walls and ceilings. Due to the reduced width of the staircase, it was necessary to use a thinner system, namely MUTE SYSTEM 63.

Installation of the soundproofing of the entire club took about 2 months. After completion of construction and detailed finished works to the interior, we had the opportunity to measure the final acoustic performance and were pleased to see that the sound insulation performance was better than originally requested.
