An internationally acclaimed electronic music producer approached DECIBEL to create a sophisticated production studio in their new home in Rome. The studio required a dual-purpose design—captivating yet understated—to accommodate its hybrid use as both a professional and personal creative space.

Challenge

The challenge was to balance the technical acoustic needs of a professional studio with an aesthetic that would feel welcoming and expansive in a residential setting. Ensuring that the acoustic panels complemented the hybrid nature of the space was crucial, as was integrating lighting to enhance the visual appeal and functionality.

Solution

To create a sense of openness and balance, DECIBEL installed a combination of acoustic panels primarily in white to maintain a bright and airy aesthetic. Selected panels were highlighted with integrated lighting systems to enhance the atmosphere and provide functional illumination for the workspace.

• Echo Wall Panels (50 x 50 cm) and Wood Perforated WAVO Panels (50 x 50 cm) were installed on walls to improve sound clarity and diffusion while contributing to a clean, minimalist look.
• GLL Fabric Panels (60 x 60 cm) with their non-linear geometry were strategically placed to enhance sound absorption and add a touch of dynamic design.
• P Bass Traps (100 x 42 cm) were used to optimise low-frequency sound management, ensuring accurate audio monitoring in the production environment.

The cohesive design ensured the studio met the technical requirements for professional music production while maintaining an inviting atmosphere suitable for a home setting.
