Project Overview

System Project, a renowned dubbing studio in Rome, sought a complete transformation of their studio rooms. The goal was to enhance acoustic performance, modernise aesthetics, and optimise functionality with a well-thought-out lighting design. These upgrades aimed to improve sound quality and create an inspiring environment for dubbing professionals.

Challenge

The project presented several unique challenges:

• Achieving precise acoustic tuning across multiple studio rooms, including Dolby listening spaces.
• Controlling low-frequency buildup while maintaining aesthetic cohesion.
• Incorporating acoustic treatments into the interior design without compromising the visual appeal or studio functionality.

Scope of Work

• Redesign the acoustic layout of all dubbing rooms.
• Sound-absorbing panels that align with the studio's aesthetic.
• Implement lighting solutions that complement the acoustic design.

Solution

We used a combination of fabric-covered sound-absorbing panels Echo Wall (50 x 50 cm) and wooden perforated panels, including the ACER and CIRCULO panels (50 x 50 cm), to enhance acoustic clarity and reverberation control. This diverse selection allowed for tailored frequency management, critical in the precise audio environments of dubbing studios.

To manage low frequencies, P Bass Traps were strategically positioned in corners and other critical areas, ensuring clear sound reproduction without muddiness. Lighting was carefully integrated, highlighting the clean lines of the panels while maintaining a functional workspace.

The result was an acoustically advanced and visually stunning studio environment, ready for high-quality dubbing sessions.
