- Custom Soundproofing Cabin in a Factory
Custom Soundproofing Cabin in a Factory
Project Overview
Hansgrohe, a leading brand in bathroom and kitchen fittings, contacted us to resolve an issue with excessive noise generated by one of their machines, which was producing up to 120 dB. The machine's dimensions and specific client requirements made this project uniquely challenging.
Challenge
The main challenge was to design and install a noise-reduction cabin around a machine of considerable size. The client's request included automated sliding doors with sensors, built-in lighting, and windows to monitor operations inside the cabin. Aligning these technical requirements with practical acoustic solutions was complex due to the cabin's height and the machine's operational needs.
Scope of Work
- Initial acoustic assessment and consultation
- Design of the noise-reduction cabin, incorporating:
- Automated sliding doors with sensors
- Windows for monitoring
- Built-in lighting system
- Production of custom-made PZP acoustic panels
- Installation, including the use of boom lifts, telehandlers, and an alpinist installer to manage the 9-metre-high structure
Solution
We engineered a custom solution using PZP acoustic panels with enhanced noise-reduction capabilities. The panels were carefully designed to integrate the necessary features, such as automated doors and monitoring windows while maintaining the cabin’s acoustic integrity. During the fast-track production, we ensured that all components, including the sound insulation doors and silencers, were tailored to meet the project's unique demands. Installation was seamless, thanks to the collaboration of our specialist team, including an alpinist to handle the height challenges.
Upon completion, independent testing confirmed a noise reduction to 78 dB, exceeding the client's expectations and offering a significant improvement over the initial noise levels.
The Importance of Acoustic Control in Industrial Settings
Effective noise control in industrial environments is crucial, not only for meeting regulatory standards but also for ensuring the safety and comfort of workers. High noise levels can lead to hearing damage and reduced productivity. Acoustic cabins, like the one installed in this project, provide a tailored solution that balances operational efficiency with noise attenuation. Companies can maintain workflow without sacrificing acoustic performance by integrating features like automated doors and monitoring windows.
