Acoustic treatment of a classroom in Bruxelles, Belgium
DECIBEL has implemented a project for an association in Brussels, Belgium. Koekeltech conducts various types of training courses in software programs, graphics and web design.
What was the problem?
There was a critical resonance problem in the main classroom in the Koekeltech building. Echoing affects the speech intelligibility and motivation levels of both students and their teachers.
What was the goal?
In order for the course members to fully retain the information that is presented throughout their lessons, the acoustics in the classrooms must be situated to facilitate the best learning environment.
What was the solution?
DECIBEL's local partner delivered twelve custom-made and textile-covered sound-absorbing panels. Additionally, to satisfy the client's custom needs, the panels were installed with 50mm distance from the walls.
The results:
We achieved satisfactory levels of reverberation and met our client's expectations. The classroom is now comfortable, and the lack of echoing increases the concentration and motivation of students and their teachers.
The annoying resounding and the difficulties it leads to will no longer be a problem for our clients, but they will have to enjoy the achieved comfort in the classroom and welcome many new students.
When it comes to education, there is no room for compromises, but there will always be room for acoustic panels.
