Acoustic Enhancement for ETEM Showrooms
Project Summary
ETEM Showrooms in Sofia and Plovdiv sought an acoustic enhancement to improve sound quality and add a modern design element to their spaces. Collaborating closely with the amazing architects from Studio Piperov, we installed custom hanging panels in Plovdiv and GLL panels in Sofia. This project achieved excellent acoustic results and introduced a unique and fresh aesthetic to both locations.
Scope of Work
Consultation and Design:
- Conducted site visits to both showrooms.
- Collaborated with the architect for layout and colour selection.
Installation:
- Installed hanging panels for the Plovdiv showroom.
- Installed GLL panels for the Sofia showroom.
Challenge
The primary challenge of this project was to install hanging panels at an angle, a novel approach for our team. This required precision in positioning and mounting to ensure both optimal functionality and an appealing design aesthetic. Additionally, coordinating with the architects and adhering to the design specifications while meeting the client's acoustic requirements added another layer of complexity to the project.
Solution
To address the challenges, we worked closely with the architects to select appropriate colours from our textile finishes palette that would complement the existing decor in both showrooms. We experimented with various angles and mounting techniques to achieve the perfect positioning for the hanging panels in the Plovdiv showroom. Through trial and error, we developed a final installation method that met both the acoustic and design requirements. The architect's design provided a unique and modern look, which we were able to bring to life with our innovative approach.
Products Used
In the Plovdiv showroom, we installed custom ceiling acoustic panels designed to hang at an angle, creating a dynamic visual effect while effectively absorbing sound. For the Sofia showroom, we utilised GLL panels, which were strategically placed to enhance the room's acoustics and maintain a sleek, professional appearance.
Result
The project resulted in significantly improved acoustics in both Etem showrooms. The custom hanging panels in Plovdiv not only provided excellent sound absorption but also added a modern, artistic element to the space. Similarly, the GLL panels in the Sofia showroom enhanced the overall sound quality while maintaining a clean and professional look. Both the client and the architect were extremely satisfied with the innovative approach and the outcome. The new acoustic treatments have not only enhanced the functionality of the showrooms but also elevated their visual appeal, making them more inviting and conducive to showcasing Etem's products.
Creating an Optimal Office Environment: The Role of Light, Sound, and Privacy
In addition to acoustics, several key interior considerations are crucial for thriving in an office environment.
Proper lighting is essential to create a comfortable and productive workspace, reducing eye strain and enhancing overall well-being. Adequate lighting should include a combination of natural light and adjustable artificial light sources to suit different tasks.
Proper sound management, through effective acoustic treatments, helps minimise distractions and create a focused atmosphere.
Privacy is another critical factor, especially in open office layouts. This can be achieved through soundproof partitions, private meeting rooms, and thoughtful office layout designs. Together, these elements contribute to a harmonious and efficient office environment that promotes productivity and employee satisfaction.
